Bring water and sugar to a boil to make a syrup. Finely chop the orange and lime peel (e.g. with a “julienne” shredder). Squeeze the orange and lime juice.

Peel the bananas and cut them into slices. In the syrup that has cooled in the meantime, add the fruit juices, the banana pieces and also most of the citrus peels form. Keep some peels for decoration. Fill everything together in a compote bowl, sprinkle with the kept peels and put it in the refrigerator for at least three hours.

As an addition to seasonal fruit compote, for example, pineapple.
