Instructions:

Carefully remove the leaves from the cabbage. Put them in boiling salted water and make them semi-soft (6-10 min). Rinse with cold water and drain well, dry with dishcloth.

Fry bacon cubes in cooking butter until crispy. Sauté onion until translucent. Cool slightly. Mix sausage meat or fine minced meat seasoned with bacon cubes and onion. Place 1 spoonful of sausage meat mixture on each two kabis leaves and roll up. Place the wraps in a buttered roasting dish.

Mix egg with thick salt, nutmeg, cream and pepper well and form over the kabis wraps.

Sprinkle everything together with the cheese and cook in the heated stove at in about 200 °C for 20 min. au gratin and ready.

Goes well with: Pasta, mashed potatoes, polenta.

Variation without sauce: sprinkle grated cheese over the wraps and cover with small butter flakes. Bake as above.
