Pit the washed cherries and cut them into small pieces.
Mix the fruits with the preserving sugar and bring everything to a boil while stirring. Let it boil for about 5 minutes. To refine, stir in some lemon juice or even a shot of rum, depending on your taste.
Now fill the prepared jars up to the brim with the hot jam, close immediately and leave on the lid for about 5 minutes.
