For the currant cake, beat the yolks, sugar, butter and vanilla sugar until fluffy, fold in the remaining ingredients and bake for approx. 25 minutes at 200 °C top and bottom heat. Beat the egg whites, granulated sugar and vanilla sugar until stiff, fold in the currant, then spread on the baked currant cake and bake for another 7 minutes at 180°C until lightly browned.
