For the dried plums, cover pitted soft dried plums (soak the day before, if necessary) with a leaf of sage and wrap with the breakfast bacon slices.

Fry all around in hot butter, drain on kitchen paper. Serve the dried plums with bacon and sage lukewarm.

The dried plums go wonderfully with a hearty roast beef or game. Instead of the sage you can also use rosemary or other herbs.
