Instructions:

Honey, sugar and oil in a small pan and heat while stirring. Cool again.

Put the flour, baking powder and gingerbread spice in a large enough bowl, make a dent and pour in the honey mixture. Stir everything from the center out, then knead well together.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and butter it.

Roll out the dough on the lightly floured surface to a thickness of three to four mm. Cut out hearts and place on the prepared baking sheet. Stir the egg yolk and cream together and brush the Guetzli with it. Cut the almonds in half lengthwise and place one half on each heart.

Bake the honey hearts in the oven heated to 200 °C on the second rack from the bottom for ten to twelve minutes.
