A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Heat honey and sugar in a saucepan on the kitchen stove until the sugar is liquid. Be careful not to let the mixture get too hot, or it will caramelize and become hard. Cool the honey-sugar liquid in the saucepan a little until it is lukewarm, then stir in the eggs one by one with a hand mixer. Then mix the baking powder, flour, cinnamon and cloves and whisk into the egg mixture. Spread the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Since gingerbread dough is always a little tough, someone should hold the parchment paper while doing this so it doesn’t slip. Use a spatula, dipped repeatedly in water in between, to spread the surface as smoothly as possible. Bake the dough in the oven at 180 to 200 °C for about 20 to 30 minutes, until the dough has a nice brown color.

During the baking process cut a template from cardboard, with the help of which you then cut the basic outlines from the dough. For the 2 walls, cut a rectangle from the cardboard with edge lengths: 15 cm and 19, 5 cm. For the 2 roof sides, cut a triangle with the edge lengths: 18 cm and 18 cm and 16 cm. For the door, cut out a small upright rectangle 4 cm high and 3, 5 cm wide in the center on the 16 cm wide line of the triangle. At the top of the triangle, cut out an additional small circle for the window opening.
