For the marble cake, cream butter and sugar, add eggs and beat until blended. Add freshly ground vanilla and mix as well. Now mix the flour and baking powder and gradually add to the butter cream.

Add enough milk so that the batter falls off the spoon without tearing. Line a rectangular cake pan with baking parchment and slide half of the cake batter onto it. Spread lightly.

Add the cocoa powder to the rest of the batter and mix with the remaining milk in the batter until the batter has turned a uniform dark color.

Now slide this dough onto the light dough, spread it and use a fork to mix the doughs in waves. Bake everything in the oven at 180 °C (approx. 45 min.) Test with a chopstick.

Preparation Tip:

Cover the marble cake with chocolate icing if desired.
