Pecan Pie is a great pie recipe for any occasion.

Knead butter, flour, egg and salt together until smooth. Let rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Press the cold dough evenly into a tart pan (200 mm ø), covering the edge of the pan. Put as many nuts on the bottom so that it is covered. Coarsely chop the remaining nuts and sprinkle them on top. Mix the whipped cream, eggs, vanilla sugar and sugar beet syrup and pour over the nuts.

Bake in a heated oven at 200°C degrees Celsius for 30-35 minutes, covering with aluminum foil after 15 minutes. Then let the Pecan Pie cool in the turned-off oven, remove from the tart pan and dust with powdered sugar to taste.

The Pecan Pie can also be made with walnuts or almonds instead of pecans. Instead of vanilla sugar, use homemade vanilla sugar. To do this, simply add a vanilla bean to a full jar of sugar, let it sit for 2 weeks and you have homemade vanilla sugar.
