For the penne with cherry tomatoes, cook the pasta in salted water until al dente – do not rinse, just drain and proceed immediately. Keep back some of the cooking water.

Remove the center stalk from the cherry tomatoes and cut in half, finely dice the feta cheese. Pluck basil leaves from the stems.

Sauté tomato halves with olive oil in a frying pan, mash half of the tomatoes, season with salt and add sugar. Then add the feta cheese. Keep moving the frying pan.

Add the pasta, season with black pepper. Finally, drizzle some cooking water (2 -3 tablespoons) from the pasta, garnish with basil leaves and serve.

Preparation Tip:

If you want it spicier, add chili and garlic during the sauté.
