For the pesto Christmas tree, prepare the spinach basil pesto. Then mix the breadcrumbs with the pesto to make a spreadable paste.

Roll out the first puff pastry on a baking sheet and cut it into a pointed triangle with scissors. On the bottom, wide side, cut away a small rectangle on the right and left so that the pastry now looks like a triangular Christmas tree with a trunk.

Cut the second puff pastry into the same shape.

Now spread the pesto on the puff pastry and top with the other puff pastry.

Cut strips about 5 cm long on both the right and left sides of the triangular tree, getting shorter as you go up.

Twirl each strip towards the top several times so that the pesto filling can be seen.

Brush the pesto Christmas tree with milk and bake in a preheated oven according to package directions.
