For plantain chips, first remove the skin from the plantains and cut crosswise into 10-12 oblong slices. Rub with a little salt. Heat oil and fry banana pieces on both sides until golden brown.

Remove banana pieces and drain on paper towels. Nibble the plantain chips while they are still warm.
