For the pumpkin apple muffins, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Butter the muffin cups or place paper cups in the muffin tins.

For the crumble, in a small baking bowl, combine the cinnamon, flour, sugar and the cold butter in flakes using your fingertips to make coarse crumbs and set aside.

For the muffins, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, salt and baking soda in a large baking bowl. In a second baking bowl, mix the eggs with the pumpkin puree and oil, then incorporate the flour mixture. Fold in apples and fill each muffin tin two-thirds full with batter.
