A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Cream soft sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla sugar with mixer. Whip egg whites to stiff peaks, form on top of egg yolk mixture. Add flour, baking powder and semolina to the egg white mixture and mix with the mixer on the lowest setting. Finally, fold in almond slivers, orange zest and juice.

Fill the dough into a greased cake springform pan (Â 28 cm), bake,

160 to 180 °C , convection oven

50 to 55 min

Put the juice of one lemon, brandy, sugar and one eighth of a liter of water in a saucepan, boil well. Soak the finished, still hot cake with it.
