For the tofu in tempura batter coat, mix the water with one egg, the flour, the sesame seeds and the spices to make a smooth tempura batter. It should be just thick enough to still stick to the tofu and not run down.
Cut the tofu into thin slices, about 1/2 inch wide.
Heat the oil in a skillet. Pull the tofu through the batter and fry it out in the oil until crispy. Arrange the arugula on a plate and place the crispy fried tofu in the tempura batter coating on top.
Preparation Tip:
Depending on taste, the tofu in the tempura dough coating can still be refined with a sauce or cranberries. It also tastes very good with a normal vinegar-oil dressing.
