For the apple pie, preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat. Grease the tart pan with butter and sprinkle with flour or breadcrumbs. Peel and core apples and cut into small cubes. Sprinkle with a little lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and vanilla sugar into a large bowl. Add milk, eggs and melted butter and whisk until smooth.

Now mix in the diced apple pieces, pour into the tart pan and smooth out. Bake the apple pie in the oven on the middle shelf for about 60 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

As soon as the apple pie starts to brown (after about 30 minutes), cover with moistened baking paper or aluminum foil to prevent it from getting too dark on the surface.
