For the vinegar dumplings, cut the dumplings in half and slice each half. Remove the skin from the onion and cut into thin rings. Rinse the chives, shake dry and cut into fine rolls.

Mix the oil, vinegar and a little lukewarm water to make a marinade. Season with salt and pepper.

In a large baking dish, mix the dumpling slices and the onion rings. Pour the marinade over them and mix it all together. Sprinkle with the chives. Leave to marinate a little longer, if desired.
